Introducing the first in the in the “featured artist” NBD rod tube collection.  The tube is painted white and then  shipped out to the artist.  They are then free to do whatever artwork they would like.  The tube is then sent back to me and I put the finishing touches on it and do my best to reflect the artists work.

This travel tube was done by Eric Hornung, owner of Anti Hero Electric Tattoo.  I’ve admired Eric’s work for a while now and am drawn to his style utilizing shapes, colors, and movement of nature.  Eric has succeeded in blending his passion for fly fishing and tattoos in this tube.

New Products Added by Nature Boy Designs

So Keith and I have been emailing back and forth this past week and I was able to get a heads up on new stuff at the NBD store. They have now added a Ladies "California Native" shirt to the lineup and, my rumors have been confirmed (from my previous NBD post) by the newest rod tubes Keith has done. Totally custom and totally radical, Keith made a custom Rainbow Trout themed NBD "Bomb Proof" Rod Tube and he also did a custom "Red/White/Black Camo" tube for Tony over at the Bearded Boar. Zach has a lanyard coming sometime this week, we can wait to get them out to try on a legit trip (rather than the small stream "quickies" we've been getting in). NBD Steps Their Game Up

Check it, Nature Boy Designs founder, Keith Westra and I have emailed back and forth a bit since I last talked about NBD back in November. He just notified me the other day that he had put some new "bomb proof" rod tube designs online so I headed over to the site to check them out and damn, legit. The designs are custom painted by Keith himself and come in at $200. Not bad for a custom, indestructible rod tube if you ask me. I have yet to try out his lanyard but it should be in the mail soon. I just found out that he also makes the lanyards based on your brand of waders, true custom. Check out the new rod tube designs, "Nothing But Natural" and "RedBellied Snake", below:

In addition to the new tubes, NBD is also doing some custom fly orders now too. Here's what they say on their site about the custom flies:

Where do I start...a guy with an idea goes a long way, especially if its a fly fisherman who can make cool shit. I stumbled upon Nature Boy Designs through my daily blog stroll on Moldy Chum. Dude Keith has his shit together, a man who can make legitimately useful gear (on his own) and sell it for an affordable price. Heres their pitch...
