Welding a Loop in a Sinking Tip

RIO dropping some necessary knowledge...

"This video shows how easy and quick it is to weld a loop in the end of RIO's InTouch "T" sinking material. Whether using T-8, T-11, T-14, T-17 or T-20, the ability to weld a loop in the ends of these level sinking tips allows anglers to quickly customize tips to the required length."

Fly Products....ARC Fishing Pt. 3: Leaders

ARC Fishing "Fly Product" Showcase Part 3: Leaders-

For those of you who missed Part 1: Fly Lines from two days ago and Part 2: Tippet Materials from yesterday, here's a little info to catch you up on ARC Fishing. Click the link above to check out Monday and yesterday's (Parts 1 and 2) posts.

Born in 2014 and introduced to the world at IFTD 2014, ARC (Angling Research Company) Fishing has moved into the market by filling gaps where product design has yet to go. They are "a company dedicated to innovation and angler-centric technology in pursuit of the highest performance fly lines, leaders, and tippet material for fly fisherman of all skill levels." With an initial focus on leaders, tippet, and lines, they have brought their own mix of technology that simply makes sense.

ARC Fishing initially launched with 6 different fly lines, 3 different types of tippets that range from 0X-7X, and one type of leader that comes in 3 different lengths. Lets run through the lineup and lay out what each has to offer over the course of the next three days, starting with the fly lines...

Here is their story...

"We launched ARC Fishing with an ambitious goal: to demonstrate there’s still plenty of opportunity for innovation in the tippet, fly line and leader markets.

Along the way, we’ve partnered with world-class manufacturers who share our passion for fly fishing, combining materials knowledge and manufacturing expertise to create the most technically advanced and versatile tippet, leaders, and fly lines on the market today. All designed with a single purpose: to help you land more fish.
Our design philosophy emphasizes simplicity, but not at the expense of performance. ARC products are packed with the latest features and technologies, including some market firsts. And, all designed to deliver unmatched performance under the most demanding fishing conditions.
As one of the industry’s newest companies, we’re committed to earning your business. We know the only way to do that is to offer products with a clear advantage over the competition.
But don’t take our word for it. Take our products to a river, lake or the flats to see what they can do. We’re confident you won’t be disappointed.

We look forward to talking to you about the full line of ARC Fishing products and seeing you on the water!"

Via Fish Itch:

All the time, Itchers are askin' me, "Itch, you ever gonna bring back this, that 'er the other thing?" Well, a-bubblin' back to the top are a few of m' favorite things from deals gone by. First off, I never have seen anything like these Lucky Bug Lures--half fly, half crankbait--an' ya can throw 'em on either a fly rod or a spinnin' rod. Ya get five lures packed in a sweet watperfoof fly or jig box, they're the cream of the crop. Secondly, maybe you're ready to re-spool yer rod. Vicious Flourocarbon is the way to get 'er done, an' ya can score a couple spools for the less than the price of one! Finally, the right tools fer the job make fishin' more fun, and these Wright 'n McGill sets are just perfect--and perfect fer yer Pop on Dad's Day. Heck, all of these would do right by the old man, if yer thinkin' gifts!

Deals.

Fish Itch: TrikFish Original Camo Line ($6.50 50% off)

You know what I like? Trickin’ fish. Foolin’ em. Gettin’ em to eat my lure or fly. And to be tricky, you can't be seen--this TripleFish Armour Tough Original Camo line by TrikFish helps you sneak up on 'em. It makes it so the fish don’t see a big weird line pointin’ right at yer bait. Plus, nylon mono gets weaker and weaker every time it is stretched by a fish or a snag. TripleFish don’t do that. It springs right back. Stronger longer? The original camo line? Count me in. Itch it in 8LB or 10LB. Heck, get a couple spools of both!

KORKERS FISHERMAN'S MOC
I have been wearing a pair of the Korkers Fisherman's Mocfor the past year and have only gotten called out  once by someone at work for wearing my "slippers".  Usually though I can slide right by the bosses unscathed and wearing them to dinner or church have been no problem either.
The Fisherman's Moc are made of a solid construction which rivals shoes from other high end companies.  The upper is made with a waterproof Nubuck leather and sandwiched between the rubber Kling-On sole is a layer of  felt which makes for a very comfortable shoe that has held up well to frequent wearings.

The Fisherman's Moc is priced at $80 and is a shoe for to and from the river, town, work, and anywhere else you can get by wearing your "slippers" in public.

WILLIAM JOSEPH TSUNAMI
I have been kicking around two William Joseph Tsunami gear bags since spring using them in the kayak and on boats trips as well as a few travel trips as well.  The Tsunami is just the right size to hold fly boxes, tools, extras fly reels and camera lenses, drink bottle, food, and anything else that you'd want to carry with you for a day away.

The Tsunami is part of the William Joseph Storm Series and has sonically welded seams, water resistant zippers, and dividers which makes it a great bag for keeping gear dry and organized.  With a price point at $100 it's well below similar type bags making it a great value as well.

THE GIVEAWAY
Up for grabs today is two pairs of Korkers Fisherman's Mocsand two William Joseph Tsunami gear bags.

Monofilament Recycling...The Best Invention Since Bread and Butter

Check out what a lot of communities throughout Delaware and Maryland are doing now through NOAA and Boat U.S. Foundation...pretty smart when it comes to conservation...it's really simple to make and only takes a few dollars and about a half hour of your time to make a decent monofilament recycling bin...I'll be making mine this week. Let me know if you guys have seen other people or states (or even yourself have) taken actions like this.
