Cpt Jack Films and Off the Grid Studio's presents.. An incredible 292 miles southeast of Mahe, lies the St St François Lagoon and adjacent Alphonse Island, part of the Amirantes group of Islands. This is remote, even for the Indian Ocean.

Alphonse, one of the famed saltwater destinations on the planet, is by most accounts, home to the most prolific Bonefish fishery in the world.

In addition to the abundant bonefish (ranging in size from 3 – 8 lbs) there are three species of Triggerfish, five species of Trevally and a plethora of other flats and offshore species. Perhaps the most challenging fish to catch is the fabled Milkfish; a turbo charged algae eater growing to 40lbs.

It is therefore, no surprise that the Alphonse Guide Team, have not only caught these amazing and very unknown fish... they pioneered the techniques which have allowed these vegetarian and notoriously difficult fish to be caught.

It’s hard to accurately describe the sheer speed, breathtaking acrobatics and technical prowess needed to convert a fly cast to a connection with this greatly unknown species. So, our team traveled to this remote location and filmed it. This short film will play in the 2016 Fly Fishing Film Tour, and will be the 1st time this amazing species is featured in this capacity on the big screen.

Following the success of Drift, Rise, Connect, and Waypoints comes the fifth project from Confluence, Providence. Filming for this new project took place this fall on Providence Atoll in the Seychelles. Confluence’s Jim Klug, Chris Patterson and Colin Witherill, Yellow Dog’s Camille Egdorf, teamed up with and FlyCastaway’s Gerhard Laubscher and Tim Babich to film the new movie. This was FlyCastaway’s first trip back to the atoll since the waters were closed to all fishermen and boat access more than six years ago due to the threats and activities of pirates operating out of Somalia. The team chased species including GT’s, bluefin trevally, bumphead parrotfish, bonefish, Indo-Pacific permit, tigerfish, milkfish and much more. Set for release on 16 October 2016.

The film follows three fly anglers on their maiden voyage as they set off from Sydney and trek north to conquer the east coast of Australia, with their sights set on tropical north Queensland. After a few unsuccessful stops, they finally roll into Hinchenbrook, 2400km from their origin. The film unveils some of Australia's most exotic destinations and monster species. Chasing Salty Dreams is loaded with beautiful images, raw emotion and true passion. It's about the adventure and the endless chase for that feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction. There's nothing better than line burning action and heart stopping runs.
