American Museum of Fly Fishing 2016 Spring Events

Manchester, Vermont – November 3, 2015 – The American Museum of Fly Fishing announced today their schedule of events for the Winter and Spring season. It is a lovely time to visit the Museum and discover our beautiful little town of Manchester, Vermont. While the fly fishing season is over until April, the town is vibrant and anglers are toiling away getting ready to turn the page on a new season. If you cannot make it to the Museum, please look for the AMFF booth on the trade show circuit and fly fishing events. Check out the listings below and on our website www.amff.com for more details.
The Fly Fishing Show (Somerset, New Jersey): Come stop by the AMFF booth at the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset, New Jersey. We will have a lot of fun historical items from the Museum on display.

FIT TO BE TYED:
The American Museum of Fly Fishing invites you to attend a series of fly tying lessons held on two separate days for all ability levels that are comprehensively designed to take you from beginner to advanced techniques. The first of the two events will take place on Saturday, February 13 from the hours of 10 am to 4 pm and will have refreshments and activities for the whole family. The second of the two will take place on Saturday, February 27 from 2 pm to 8 pm. In the evening, from 6-8 pm, there will be fly fishing giveaways, beer for purchase for those 21 and older, and free pizza will be provided to get you fueled up for our first ever Iron Fly and Historical Tie competition. Prizes will be given to the winners of both the Iron Fly, which is modeled after the Iron Chef show with a mad rush for tying materials, and the Historical Tie, a competition where participants have 15 minutes to cleanly tie an obscure historical pattern.

In celebration of the opening weekend of fishing season, we invite fishermen to be a part of a fun new tradition here at the AMFF. Bring a picture of your Opening Day catch to the museum marked with the weight, length, and what river you caught it in and become a part of local fly fishing history for all to see on our Big Board. The largest fish and smallest fish will win prizes and bragging rights. MUST BE TAKEN ACCORDING TO VERMONT STATE LAW WITH A FLY ROD.
