Legendary Angler Lefty Kreh Announced as Special Guest at the 10th Annual 2-Fly Tournament
Mr. Kreh will be on hand to provide fly fishing instruction to the injured and disabled veterans competing in the 10th Annual 2-Fly Tournament
LaPlata, MD - April 12, 2016 - Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is pleased to announce that legendary angler Lefty Kreh will be attending the 10th Annual 2-Fly Tournament on April 30 - May 1, 2016 at Rose River Farm in Syria, Virginia.  Mr. Kreh will be on-hand to share his talents with the veterans competing in the tournament. being held on the Rose River in picturesque Madison County, Virginia
Lefty Kreh served this country with honor from 1942 to 1947 and is a combat veteran from the Battle of the Bulge. He continues his service today as a generous supporter of Project Healing Waters, selflessly giving his time and sharing his talents and knowledge with our disabled active military and veterans..  
For more than 50 years as an outdoor writer and fly fishing instructor, Lefty Kreh has touched more lives and converted more people to fly fishing than anyone ever has or ever likely will. He has truly been a servant to the fly fishing community, having given selflessly with his teaching skills, innovations and humor, and adding immeasurably to the level of enjoyment and satisfaction that many of us have experienced from the sport of fly fishing.
Lefty's writing career began part-time in 1952 with a newspaper outdoor column and has progressed to include articles in many of the major outdoor publications and fly fishing periodicals. He has authored, collaborated on, or contributed to more than 20 books. Some of the most notable and most recent are: Fly Fishing in Salt Water, Fishing the Flats, Lefty's Little Library, Lefty Kreh's Longer Fly Casting, Lefty Kreh's Ultimate Guide to Fly Fishing, Lefty Kreh's Presenting the Fly and Basic Fly Fishing: All the Skills and Gear You Need to Get Started. His DVDs include Lessons with Lefty, and The Best of Lefty's Tips, and his DVD on casting, Lefty Kreh on Fly Casting, is arguably the best around.
The pre-tournament dinner starts at 5pm on Saturday night April 30th under the stars in picturesque Madison County, Virginia.  Tom Brokaw will serve as the keynote speaker for the dinner at Rose River Farm.
Current participants in the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program, and alumni, will also be on hand throughout the weekend to discuss the challenges facing today's service members, both physical and emotional, and the impact PHWFF has had on their recovery and transition.
The tournament competition kicks off at 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning May 1st and features PHWFF participants from across the nation.  Military/veteran participantswill be partnered with a professional fly fishing guide from among the most notable names in the sport.

For a little more than a decade Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF)  has focused on healing those who serve.  It is through the tremendous contributions of our volunteers and supporters nationwide that last year we served over 7400 deserving members of our armed services.   The 10th Annual 2-Fly Tournament will serve to raise funds to provide veterans with the support they need on their journeys to recovery as we move into our second decade of service.  Learn more
