Kickstarter...In Search of Grande

Yet another Kickstarter campaign for you...watch the video below (just to get you amped), then read on.

This is an Adventure film about catching one of the most elusive fish in the sea. But what its really about, is chasing your dreams.

Searching for Grande....
Searching for Grande....

We hope to inspire many people with our documentary. We want people to go out and chase their Grande! What is your Grande? Maybe it's a trip you have always wanted to take, but have never actually gone. Maybe you’ve wanted to start a creative project or build your own business, but never believed it was actually possible. Maybe you’ve wanted to pursue "THAT" girl or take a leap of faith in hopes that "IT" will work out? Are any of these your Grande, or is it something else?

Our definition of Grande.
Our definition of Grande.
In our film, the word "Grande" is a term used for a large Roosterfish. In a class all by itself, 40 pounds or more caught on a fly rod.

Our filming location resides along secret beaches in the Sea of Cortez. It's the only known place of its kind where you can consistently chase these fish from the beach. In other parts of the world, Roosterfish reside near rocky beaches battered by heavy surf where the art of fly fishing is almost completely impossible. Our direct access to these fish has produced some of the best Roosterfish footage ever captured.

It’s the land of "Do It Yourself" (DIY) heaven for people who are seeking  great challenge and even greater reward. No boat, no guide, no comfy air-conditioned lodge to relax in. Just yourself, the elements, and hopefully...the fish! Where is the Rooster going to be? How will it react?  Will the weather cooperate? Which fly will work best? How far is too far to hike in one day? These are just a few questions one would ask while in search of that ten second opportunity to hook one of these elusive fish. Sound like fun? Absolutely!

Still searching....
Still searching....
"In Search of Grande" provides an up close and personal perspective of what it really takes to find these fish, including successes and failures. When we began filming our project, we decided to let the story unfold organically. Prior TV/Movie/Web content concentrates mainly on the fishing side of chasing Roosterfish and not much else. "In Search of Grande" has captured so many additional adventures, happenings, places, and people true to the real Roosterfish experience. This gives a great deal of entertaining color to a traditional fishing story. We have captured real people doing real things, taking on the challenge and dealing with surprises along the way to achieving success, which is a great message for all audiences. We want to leave the viewer hungry for personal achievement and motivated to tackle all obstacles along the way.

Our trip consisted of fifteen full days out in the elements. We felt this time frame would give us a chance to land a Grande, but knew there were no guarantees. Within those fifteen days Adam conducted daily interviews deemed "con-fish-ionals"; one at dusk and one at dawn, every day no matter what.

A natural story arch evolved with early "almosts" and total failures as our quest unfolded. Ironically, the true star of our film decided not to show up until our final dayof filming. When we sat back and realized how the two weeks unfolded, everyone looked at one another in amazement. We knew we had something truly special, something totally unscripted.
We know and believe that our project will inspire others to get off the couch, get outside, and chase their Grande. Whatever it may be!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
By joining in on our Kickstarter campaign, you can help put our project on the big screen and inspire others!
We've started production and the experience has been amazing.
Up to this point, the project has been 100% self-financed with the resources of a restaurant manager and a construction worker turned fishing guide.  Realistically, these funds can only take us so far. An Action/Adventure Film is a major financial undertaking and we need to raise funds to complete and share the project properly and professionally. (See the FAQ below to learn more about where the funding will go.)
We are extremely optimistic about this and future projects. We hope after seeing the trailer for "In Search of Grande" you too are inspired and will want to join our kickstarter project!
