One of the coolest ideas I've ever heard of, and something we here at TLTFF are looking to bring into our repertoire here in Annapolis is an event the Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders and Orvis Arlington have paired up to create. Its called "Beer Tie". It is basically what it sounds like, a bunch of guys getting together at a bar, drinking beer, and tying flies. Awesome right?
I just got word from Rob Snowhite aka The Fly Fishing Consultant, that the next Beer Tie will be Monday, May 13th. Here are the details straight from the TPFR website:
May 13, 2013 (Monday) - Beer Tie. Meet other club members at Whitlow's on Wilson in the Clarendon Community of Arlington from 7:00PM to 9:00PM to tie flies, watch fly fishing films, and consume food and drink. We will be in the Sandbar and Patio area of Whitlow's. Bring a vise and materials if you would like to, we will also have a table set up to teach beginners how to tie as well. If you can, make your way down to Whitlow's for an awesome time. I am still trying to get off work to attend this Beer Tie, I'll keep everyone posted as that unfolds.
