Joey Dwyer Productions

For a few months now I've been watching The Backwoods Crew crank out some amazing videos. Finally I have had the privilege of not only becoming part of the BWC but have a video I made be a part of their repertoire. As with any well-edited video, there is someone behind the scenes that makes that magic happen. The man behind some of the most featured surf shorts and great BWC material is named Joey Dwyer.

Joey owns JWD Productions, a freelance video production firm based out of the North East. His passion is to capture real life instances in a unique way, from extreme sports to corporate businesses. Joey is currently working as the Director of Media for the Run for Veterans (therunforveterans.org) and Director for the Backwoods Crew online Blog.

Here's a little about Joey...

It all began when I was a young child, borrowing my dads bulky VHS video camera to shoot short skateboarding videos with the crew.  As I grew older, my love for film making continued to grow.  My mom, a professional photographer, has been a strong supporter and a great teacher.  I have an infatuation when it comes to capturing and editing pieces that genuinely grasp the attention of the audience about certain topics.  I have been blessed to be given the opportunity to travel all over the world, and I have taken full advantage of shooting these places and cultures.  My travels have been a key tool for my progression in film making  I enjoy  informing people in unique and inspiring ways. In 2010, I was fortunate enough to work as an intern at East Carolina University Marketing and Publications as an apprentice to the videographer, Bryan Edge.  In 2011, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts in media production.  In 2012, I started a freelance video production company JWD Productions.  A few of JWD Productions’ clients have included NBC sports, Director of Media for the “NBC Dew Tour 2012” surf exhibition in Ocean City, Maryland; Toyota Scion, filmed for Toyota with the releasing of the Scion IQ in the National Harbor of Marlyand; I also worked as director of media for “The Center for the Study of Boy’s and Girls’ Lives” annual convention at Penn State University.  Additonal clients include, professional surfer, Colin Herlihy, Spark Productions and Mind, Body and Sole Spa.

I have recently taken on a major job, I will dedicate this next year to work as the Director of Media for The Run for Veterans, an epic adventure across America.  therunforveterans.org
