Billy Pate’s Fly Fishing Collection Was Auctioned Off May 19, 2012

In April 2011, the fly fishing world lost one of its favored and legendary members,
William Wilson Pate, Jr. At the time of his passing, the octogenarian was an avid
angler and had innumerable fishing records to his credit. Sadly, those trophies and
the rest of his fly fishing collection will be auctioned off to the public on May 19, 2012.

The auctioning off of Bill Pate's estate is scheduled to take place on May 19, 2012 at
his former residence in Islamorada, Florida. The auction is being conducted by
auctioneer, Richard W. Oliver. It is expected get underway at 1 p.m. The public will
have three opportunities to preview the collection prior to the sale.

The first preview is scheduled to take place on May 17, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.,
as part of a Bonefish and Tarpon Trust benefit. It is only fitting, as Pate was one of the
organization's founding members. Those interested in attending that preview event must
remit a $25 per person fee and R.S.V.P. The remaining public previews are slated to
take place on May 18 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on May 19 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Bids will be accepted in person, as well as by mail, phone and absentee methods.
