Smartphone Apps: Round 2

Some of you may remember back to my previous post back in July about the Three Apps Every FlyFisherman Should Own. Well I got some new joints for ya. It was nice to use those previous three apps back when all I had was an iPod Touch. But now that I have the ultimate trifecta (MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S), I have the ultimate fly fishing app experience going on right at the tip of my finger. Here are a few new apps for you to check out and appreciate you little fly fishing minions...

"It’s a fastbeautiful and fun way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures.
Snap a photo with your iPhone, choose a filter to transform the look and feel, send to Facebook, Twitter or Flickr – it’s all as easy as pie. It’s photo sharing, reinvented."
Okay okay, so its not exactly a fly fishing app, but this shitz for real. The best part about this banger is the fact that you can not only take and edit photos to put on the interweb, but there are a good amount of fly fisherman already using this app. Other than myself, @mkupfer32, here are a few others and some other their (and my) pictures...
@mike_phazeone, @findeep, @flyfishing84, @thebugparade, @phishtitz, @jcarte01, @jostme, @lofifly, @clarance, @tight_line, @thefiberglassmanifesto, @aceonbase, @ramcatt, @mattrockwell, @davidmartinfishing, @schedulefly, @castinglifeaway, @zachando, @josbair, @deanwo, @bhumphrey, @tightloops, @dr_moreau, @flyrodgod (if I missed you I'm sorry, comment below and I'll add you)...

Be sure you check out these tow sites too...Ink 361 and StickyGram. Ink 361 allows you to see peoples photos and such outside of the Instagram app almost like a live Twitter picture feed. StickyGram allows you to turn your Instagram pictures into magnets, 9 magnets for $14.99 + FREE SHIPPING. Those magnets might look good on your tying room beer fridge...#winning.

"Take a pic of your latest fishing catch. Share it instantly with friends – anywhere, anytime. Connect, compare and comment on Facebook."

Nice app, I'd say 4 out of 5 stars. It would definitely get 5 if it didn't make you take the picture right when you catch the fish to share from the app. It would be nicer to be able to take the picture from the phones camera and then once the fish is free, upload via the app. If you goto the Fishare Facebook page, you can see all uploaded catches, pretty gnar.

"Check the tide before you head to the beach to surf, tide pool or just go for a walk or run. No network connection is required, so you can check anytime, anywhere."

...Or before you head out fishing. I love this app, use the dog shit out of it. Works great anywhere...necessity.

"Fishhound Mobile is the ultimate mobile application for anglers. It’s the one application that gives you the functionality that typically requires two or three different apps. Fishhound’s Mobile Application gives you:

The Best Local Fishing Reports
Interactive Maps & GPS Points
Search for the Best Waters Around You
Personal Catch Log
Search for a Pro
Fishhound's Species Database
The Ultimate Fly & Lure Database

Imagine you’re on the road and your schedule has opened up. You’ve got a day to fish. You will need to know not only the closest water but also where you can catch the most fish. Using your zip code, Fishhound Mobile finds the fishing reports for the surrounding waters so you know the waters found to be the best by our professional anglers that are closest to your location. It saves you gas and better yet it saves you time.

You're out on the water for the perfect day of fishing. On your first cast, you hook the perfect fish, it's your personal best and before you release it or put it in the livewell, what do you do? You take a picture. And now with Fishhound Mobile you can store that photo and information on that perfect fish in your Personal Catch Log. You’ll remember your location and what you used."

Every fisherman knows about Fishhound.com, amazing reports, great website, awesome resource. The app is all that rolled into a convenient little doodad.

Enough said about those 3...they all allow you to blog from your phone.
