Larkin Works Nets

As I was scrolling through my Instagram feed the other day on Ink361, I came up to this picture:

After going back and forth with @Busty_Onion (the guy who posted this picture) I found that this is a Larkin Works net. Call me naive or whatever, but I had never heard of these nets. They are beautifully hand-crafted nets from Missoula, MT by Peter Larkin. Here's a blip from their site:

"Larkin Works fly fishing nets are hand-crafted with pride in Missoula, Montana.  Our superior craftsmanship and quality design sets the standard for custom landing nets.  The nets are built tough for fishing in Montana's rivers and streams.

We use clear, lightweight, pvc-free rubber bag netting that won't harm the fish or snag your hooks.  We provide to anglers several models that are suited for boat, float tube or shore fishing.  Make sure you have one for your next fishing trip."

They make three nets; the Blackfoot Series, the Madison Series, and the Smith Series.

The Blackfoot  Series is a great net for shore fishing Montana's rivers and streams. The hoop consists of 4-layers of walnut and ash.  The handle is also made from walnut and ash.  All of our nets include a clear, PVC-free catch and release style bag to protect the fish and prevent hook snags.  The Blackfoot Series include a swivel ring on the handle that can easily be attached to your vest or lanyard.  The nets are finished with a high quality spar urethane which is waterproof and UV resistant.

Hoop Size: 14"x8"
Total Length: 23"

$110.00

The Madison  Series is a great net for trout fishing Montana's rivers and streams. The hoop consists of 4-layers of walnut and ash.  The handle is also made of walnut and ash.  All of our nets include a clear, pvc-free, lightweight rubber bag to minimize the impact on the fish and to prevent hook snags.  The Madison Series has a swivel ring on the bottom of the handle that can easily be attached to a lanyard or vest.   The nets are finished with a high quality spar urethane which is waterproof and UV resistant.

Hoop Size:  16"x8"
Total Length:  25"

$130.00

The Smith Series Float Tube nets are perfect for your next float trip or canoe adventure.  With the Smith's longer, laminate handle, you'll be able to reach farther to land that fish.  It also has a hoop large enough to catch that fighting fish. The net is constructed of walnut and ash. The Smith Series features a clear, lightweight, PVC-free rubber bag that won't harm the fish or snag your hooks.  The nets are finished with a high quality spar varnish to make it waterproof and UV resistant.

Hoop Size:  18"x10.5"
Total Length: 34"

$170.00

So, if your in the market for a new net and aren't too worried about price, from what Chris Reed (@Busty_Onion) tells me, this net is well worth your dollar. Check them out and you decide. From my experience, anything made in Montana is well worth your money...
