Silver Spring man to appear in court this fall
A Silver Spring man is scheduled to appear in Annapolis District Court on November 15 on charges he and three companions caught more than 200 undersized striped bass.
Natural Resources Police (NRP) Officer Jeff Beshore was on patrol at Sandy Point State Park on Aug. 31 at 1:30 a.m., when he stopped a boat returning to the marina.
After receiving permission to check the coolers aboard the 14-foot recreational vessel, Beshore found 228 striped bass under the legal minimum of 18 inches. The officer also found about 30 pounds of white perch in the coolers. No one on the vessel had a fishing license.
Hervino Nunez-Aleman, the owner and operator of the boat, received a citation for possession of undersize striped bass.
Citizens who see conservation violations, maritime emergencies and other law enforcement issues on the Chesapeake Bay or the state's public lands are urged to call the NRP communication center at 800-628-9944.

ReplyDeleteIn Ct. they will tow away your boat on the spot, take your license, tackle, trailer, car, etc, Anything used in the pursuit/take! Got boots on? Not no more. I have seen it happen. The stupid poacher I saw was left standing at the dock with a $6000 ticket and not much else. Comeon NRP... do your job! That guy is probably fishing right now!
Yea our DNR doesnt crack down hard enough IMO...its sad.
